The Swallows-Willows Japanese Screen Needlepoint Chart was originally found in Sally Corey’s acclaimed book Japanese Motifs for Needlepoint, published by William Morrow & Co., Inc. in 1981.
Sally, then known as Sally Nicoletti, created the designs for the book over thirty years ago. They all, including the three designs in the Swallows-Willows Japanese Screen Needlepoint Chart, remain truly timeless. As with the other charts in the book, Sally took her inspiration from the Japanese No theater costumes. Sally adapted the rich textures and patterns of this ancient textile art into intriguing, yet simple needlepoint designs.
Basic stitch diagrams are included. These stitches are used in this design, as well as the other charts within the original book.
You could just as easily turn these three needlepoint canvases into a stylish 3-piece wall hanging.
Chart is available for immediate download upon purchase.
